Why is writing important?

I would love for my career to be in the entertainment industry.  I worked on a movie for six months and am already loving it.  Whether it be acting, directing, or sound mixing, any department would be loads of fun.  If I were to act or direct, communication and writing would be crucial.  Actors need to know how to communicate in a variety of ways in an even bigger variety of personalities.  Directors have to know how to write screenplays and direct the actors to the specific emotion he is trying to construe.  Communication is key in the entertainment industry because it essentially is how we are entertained.  I would have to learn to write screenplays and have more of an extroverted communication style to keep people interested.

  2. I don't know if actors really need to know how to communicate in their own words, that's what they have publicist for. I do agree with you, everyone else does need to know how to write well. That is a needed skill in the entertainment field, because you will need money to make your films and the way you get it is in your writing to prospective clients. And when you win the Oscar's you will need to write your acceptance speech.

  3. i think that going into that field is really cool and it sounds like a lot of fun. There was a time i felt like i wanted to be a actor but i'm not open enough for that path, i would have to break my shyness. But if that is what you are strong at then go for it, i'm sure you will be very successful.
